Habesha Africa Directors attend the 2nd Golden Business Forum
Led by the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF), the National Business Forum which took place today, 03 December 2019 in Kigali, was designed to showcase Rwanda’s successful ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, with prime focus on continental free-trade and how Rwanda will benefit from the free trade.
The event attracted individuals from different sectors of the Rwandan economy and government officials, such as The Minister of Trade and representatives from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). Two directors from Habesha Africa investments, Mr. Parastus Nepolo and Mr. Jean-François Gahutu were also part of the guest list at this event. The Habesha directors were invited following the MoU that the company recently signed with PSF during the Namibia Rwanda Trade Mission that was hosted in October this year, which is aimed at facilitating trade between Namibia and Rwanda.
During the official remark, PSF’s chairman said, “Forums such as this facilitate closer business relationships, foster trade, and investment, raise awareness of potential joint venture partnerships and technology transfer arrangements, and increase awareness of the extensive opportunities that exist between Rwanda and other countries”.
The continental free-trade will have potential advantages to the private sector including increased economies of scale and access to cheaper raw materials and intermediate inputs; better conditions for regional value chains and integration into global value chains; catalyzing the transformation of African economies towards greater utilization of technology and knowledge; facilitating both intra-African and external direct capital flows to African countries, and creating a labor market and a demand-pull throughout the continent.
PSF urged Habesha Africa to invite Namibian delegates to the bigger trade mission which will happen earlier next year.
